Quiet exhaust for my setup
Hey everyone,
I recently put down 451whp 375wtq on 27lbs (straight pump 93) with my 2006 Evo IX. Car has an AMS GT35r turbo kit on it. I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for the quietest exhaust possible that i can get for my car. Im talking i want this to sound as quiet as it can get. Iv heard greddy evo2 is quiet along with the Cobb but it says that exhaust is discontinued but just wanna know if you guys know of any others. thanks in advance everyone.

lol^ , seriously though, I have the tanabe touring medallion exhaust and it is a very quiet exhaust. It sounds almost like the stock exhaust at idle and only gets a little loud at WOT. Either way its rated at 95 decibels and retains the benefits of a true 3 " system.
++1 here, thats what I run and its quiet under most any circustances.

Its a bit louder not much but the so bend muffler OS a nit restricted due to the bend and the evo2 sounds sweet the aphasia a ton can sound.
I logged my car over a straight N1 style exhaust and found no loss in HP with my setup (actual data vs. your 'subjective guidance' )....If you like the loud sound, then stick with an N1 design....
To OP - The drone is often caused by two factors - poor muffler design and not having a slight angle at the tip of the exhaust. Having the slight (you can still see through the canister) bend reduces the drone as well and makes for a much more pleasurable ride (IMHO).
im looking for the same thing as the OP. I have an AMS 50 trim kit, and want the quietest exhaust possible, without bottlenecking or restricting the car too much. Eventually, i'll be going back to a stock turbo or a stock frame turbo, but for now, just need a quieter exhaust.
I'm going to look into the exhausts mentioned in this thread.. any other ones worth looking into? One's that preferably fit the jdm rear bumper
