My previous custom Magnaflow with a long resonator and huge muffler is as quiet but it sounds different when WOT. I feel some hp gained with the HKS.
thanks for the info, im placing the order tonight. i wish map still had this in stock since they were the cheapest

my 0.02 to quiet down my full tbe no cat, after the catback flange in the long tunnel straightaway next to the drive shaft in place of the piping had 2 18" preforated style resonators welded in, and it is kinda loud at wot, but highway speeds in vacuum under 3k, sounds barely like a catback upgrade only exhaust. So weld in a resonator or two that should quiet it down. good luck.

Also I agree on how good it sounds and how quiet it is , but only as a catback . Once you add downpipe and or replace the stock cat it gets louder than that 95 db. That was the first catback I have owned for my evo and loved it till I opened up the exhaust even more .
I agree except I measure 2 5/8 or 2.625 at the entrance of the can and all the way through.

measured like so:

What the hell, more confirmation. I've read here of this tanabe on a 500 WHP car though, so I'm not too worried.

I don't get why people say this -.- its not that quiet. I own one... Maybe there's a different one. But mine is a tiny straight through magnaflow... And its seriously penetratingly deep even at idle. My friend who lives maybe 40-50 yards away from me, knows when i get home. And when in boost it SCREAMS. Maybe its not as loud as per say AMS's exhaust but its pretty loud imo.

an oval muffler will win like the old rnr stealth and cobb. Some flow is lost but I'm guessing the taper and non 3" hurts flow more.

A custom exhaust with 3" pipe, testpipe, 2 resonators and oval muffler is as quiet/performance that can happen i think. I have never seen one though.

although only issue, is in my videos im going wot, so no really any filming of showing off the cars quietness. But trust me, welding in those resonators quieted the car down, itll take a while because the resonators i guess you would say have to break in to start quieting down. But it did the job imo.
