Again, totally feel you. Unfortunately regardless of weather you want yours to be the "bait car" or not, you have an Evo. Yours already is bait.

Does anyone know how many evos have been stolen in the last 2 months?
Since late June there have been no fewer than 8. These can all be confirmed in evom threads. Off the top of my head there have been at least 2-3 more whose owners never posted about them here.

So we are now in the double digits.

Just a friendly reminder, be cautious as to the mods you all put in your signature ie: gt35r, 282cams, built 2.3liter, meth tuned 500 whp ...

that along with your vehicle location/ where you live, are recipes for disaster

Damn, saw this on the risky devil fb page. This is the reason why I never drove/drive my rsx or evo to the city. If I have to, I park it in my condos garage where you need a garage opener to get through. Best of luck...

It is suggested that everyone STOP posting in the spotted threads. In all honesty, it should be closed at this point.

Guarantee they are lurking that thread reading people's comments about where they work or where they park at certain times of the day. Then they have the ability to locate your car and then follow you home.

After a recovered Evo was found, it has been discovered that these guys are swapping out the ECUs in order to get around the ignition immobilizer. At this point, the best thing to do is get an alarm with a 2 way pager, some way to disable the ignition, and a way to disable the car from being pushed away to get started.

Get a camera on your car if at all possible. A decent monitoring system can be had to about $150.

If you have a garage, get as many lights, motion sensing lights, motion alarms, in house entry notifications, and motion cameras. Anything you can do to deter or at least slow down the theft for you to catch them in the act. Cameras would greatly help so we can get a more accurate description of what they look like.

It has become pretty clear that these guys have gotten exceptionally quick and taking them. Get a better fuel immobilizer, gps location device (lojack or any cheap gps device), and possibly a way to stop the ECU from getting messed with.
