Nox EVO - 900HP to stock and bolt ons.
As some of you might know from a few years ago, I used to race a Black 03 Evo that was known for what we accomplished on the stock block. Build thread here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/pr...-part-2-a.html
This thread is pretty much the opposite of what most of you find in these build threads. I purchased it with intentions to put the car back to stock and daily drive it. It will have bolt-ons with the stock turbo and e85 (tuned by TSCOMP ). I'll eventually get a 62mm on it and have some more fun like my last one.
I found this car from a local. It consisted of a FF 67mm 2.1L setup making close to 900HP. The transmission was damaged after a roll race (no 3rd or 4th gear). I drove the car home in December (shifting from 2nd to 5th was not great). I removed most of the big power parts including the engine.
Driving home:
Built motor coming out
How she sits today. I have ordered a full stock longblock and transmission that should be here in 2 weeks along with some other goodies.

Motor & transmission arrived safe and sound to my friends shop. I'm planning on picking it up this weekend and possibly getting it in the car.
Purchased a Buschur 3" turbo back exhaust from a local.
Finished up the fuel system as well. There was already a -6AN feed line going to the rail. The car originally had an Evodan double pumper. I picked up a factory sender and installed a Walbro 255 and then used a russell quick connect push on fitting to easily adapt a -6 to it. Normally I would modify the sender and use a -6 bulk head, but this route was much easier and quicker.
Car had a larger ETS FMIC on it. I sold that and picked up a VSRF 3.5" unit. Fits pretty well!

I find this interesting; a lot of people are going back to stock/bolt-ons. Some of us have been down the high-HP road and just get tired of the maintenance and replacing parts all the time. Then there is the "oh, this doesn't fit that anymore.. I have to have one of these made to make one of those work", etc.
My car is back to stock with bolt-ons and I'm enjoying it more than I ever have before. I haven't had to work on it since... well.. I don't know when. And it's awesome.
Congrats on the new... er... old project!

The high HP road definitely isn't for everyone. I do know a fair share of people that went back to bolt-ons and enjoy their car more often.
I could have kept the car built with the power it came with when I purchased it, however I purchased the car strictly to make it into a fun daily driver which will be replacing my 2011 CTS-V.

Car is mostly buttoned up and the engine is primed. I should be able to fire it up today once I get fresh fuel in it.
New radiator with FAL slim fan.
Built a 4" SD intake. I went with 4" tube so the intake can stay when I upgrade the turbo down the road.
Picked up a set of BBS wheels. Two of them are not in the greatest shape so they'll be powder coated a matte gray and then wrapped in new 245/45/17s.
I am thinking about powdercoating the brembos this color:
