quick question about buddy list

im not sure if this is a repost of not, but what function does the buddy list have besides putting a + next to their name in the online registered users.

it puts a + next to the online name... easier to find.

The previous version of vBulletin did more with the buddy list; it's pretty useless as it stands now.
