Regional forums rant

Who the heck set this up? I'm guessing that person failed geography in 3rd grade. How is Colorado, Utah, Montana in the midwest? Make me a mod and I'll move it around.

I don't see why it matters, everyone who is looking for it can find it

[rant] You know, if I was in charge and had read this, I would purposely ignore it. The mods don't get paid for what they do, you don't pay to have an account here. Everyone does the best the can with what they have! Last time I checked, when you asked for something to be done (NICELY!!!), you get much better results!

I really don't see why it matters where you group certain states. As long as they're close together you can call them anything.

I would personally like to change the structure of the regional forums. I see this site as a great technical resource, I don't see it as much of a community. I'm not sure if the membership as a whole is necessarily mature enough, but I think trying to enhance the "community" aspect would both make the site better and also help to douse some of the flames. People tend to be much more respectful when they're not an anonymous person hiding behind an avatar.

My $0.02, maybe with a bonus penny for having the moderator under my name.

That would be KK, the site owner/admin. Even if you were a moderator you wouldn't have the authority to change something like that so far as I know. I'm not even sure I can even edit/create forums. I had a similar gripe years ago, but basically this shouldn't even be an issue unless you're trying to organize multi-state events and youre in a border state. If so just post a link in the other states' forums and link it to the original thread in your state's region. For the time being, that's as effective a solution as can be offered. Unless Mark decides he wants to change the regional boundaries, I don't see there being any other solution...assuming this is really a problem.
