My bad, I didn't mean to sound like I was promoting street racing (I agree, stay on the track)but the truth of the matter is that people do it. I think any vid. of evos should be allowed so that we can all enjoy them. But I know that's how it's gotta be for legality sake. Anyway, we should DEF. have a forum with vids., has the ball gotten rolling with this yet?

 

I understand street racing is illegal, but the fact of the matter is that people do it any way. But thats not the point "moderator", the question is to have a vid forum accessable in the main menu of choices. I'm sure that there are alot of track only vids that people would like to see. I would like to see your Lancer do the quarter.

 

So do the moderators control whether it gets put together or not, b/c we really NEED one of these? My friend's got a Corvette and he goes to this site where they break down a vid. section by quarter mile, drag, street, burnouts, track etc. and he's always rubbing it in my face that "my" forum doesn't have anything cool like that. We have SWEET cars and we need to have a vid. section to show off what they can do.

MORE LINKS!! - alot of people don't post up stuff because the time it takes to upload the video/file doesn't even out with the time it dies, so they feel like it's a waste of time....so I Feel personally you will see more vids/files ..knowing it will last longer

I used to have an ftp site up for this purpose.
Here are the major issues
1. ****** who only want to download and no one adds new content.
2. Huge drain on bandwidth and the complaints that would go with it.
3. Rights. You can't just post any old videos unless you are the source and are giving the site the right to distribute freely.

Unfortunately I lost the HDD with all the videos when I moved. It was dead when I brought my server back up. It wasn't no cheap IDE drive either. Pisses me off that I lost all of the videos. Only thing left is what was on my other PC and I will happily send it all off to KK if he decides to go ahead with this.

 

I'm still a firm believer we sholdn't have one for video OR pics, but I know I'm in the minority.

Well you could set it up so that only members can see the video forum. And you could make it where only members with 100 posts or more can view them.

That would make the members be more active. As long as they are not post whoring.

I agree. If you have a vid, post it in a thread in the appropriate forum. Look at Trevs car thread in OT.

If you have pics post them in the correct place.


SwfitEvo, you'll have people post whoring if there is any sort of minimum set for anything.

 

just because street racing is illegal doesnt mean ANYTHING.... its called freedom of speech...which includes racing videos..cops cant do anything about them anyway...unless they see the racing act in progress..they can do nothing.....only warnings can be givin...i know this from personal expierence

i second what Evo8 kid said. I was in my RR filming my buddys Greg's Stage 3 Evo going against a TT RX7. After we were done filming, i gave the camera back to Greg. Two days later, his apartment was searched by the cops because of some **** his roomate got into. The cops watched the tape, and were legally only able to give him a WARNING. He said "they have to see it with thier own eyes"

ps- I also noticed my post was deleted by the mods (cmon), ...mentioning "closed course" or "private land" is OKAY. PEople are allowed to post "kill stories" about races, if one of the two abve are mentioned its never deleted/locked, the SAME should apply to videos IMHO

Please keep this thread on topic and discussing a video forum. Illegal kill stories and videos are not allowed on Evom... period. Kindly point me to the threads on Evom that violate that rule. Thanks.
