stop the reposts!!
can we get a rule that a newb's first 25 posts have to be in non-OT topics and then they can make their own thread? Or maybe make the gateway to starting new topics be at the end of the search results page...?
Let's hear the pros and cons.... I bring this up because it's REALLY hard to get to useable info when you have to scan through 80 "rear disk conversion", "hey!! can we swap this engine" and "What kind of bulb do I need for X" or "where can I get replacement bulbs?!?!?!!??!?" type-threads.

as mentioned in the rear disc post I fully back your idea.
I'm not saying lets make it difficult for new members and make them jump through all kinds of hurdles just to get info. I can understand the new 04 and 05 guys cuz there isnt too much info (although steadily growing) about some of the body things they'd like to do so for them to post new stuff is understandable.
But the aggravating part is the new member of the 02-03 gen lancer that asks questions that have been answered several times already.
I suggest that new members are given a temporary membership status, similiar to what engineerboy said, wherein they are required to conduct a certain number of posts and or searches before they are given full member status and allowed to create new topics

^ I've noticed that too, they'll be several posts from different people within the same week all on the same subject. Its like one person brings up window tint, then everyone else says to themselves hey thats a great idea, window tint. Then they all jump on and ask every question they can about it
They do seem to come in batches...but I think a lot of reposts are reposts that they KNOW they're reposting, but looking through 500 pgs of information for their exact problem gets difficult, but that's just me and something like the "Clunking" Suspension Evo thread...there's as many different answers in there as there are posts...but in most cases I agree to stoping the noob reposts, but not reposts in general

And that's why they have to search through so many threads- because there's nothing to stop the new threads.... see the vicious cycle emerging?
I'm not saying make it impossible, and if I had to choose one of the above, I'd say put the new thread button on the search results page.

If I wasn't doing my alignment right now (taking a break
) I'd say let's make this a group effort. We could start a thread that sits at the top of every Lancer heading (engine tech, suspension, etc) that covers ALL FAQ. Then, once the list is compiled, we could have moderators delete any thread that's in the FAQ ...... eh, it would be NICE to get some official input on this, and more than the four of us

No, I'm trying. I'm fecking sick of these people who can't or won't use the search. That's my main point. The new thread buttn needs to be at the end of the search results page.
