Vendor Status

This goes along the guidelines for those Evom craftsman out there who offer services out of their garage and it is just not practical to have full vendor status.

Maybe if there was a way that they could get a title of "EVOM CRAFTSMAN" or something similiar like that to designate that they do garage mods for sale

Atleast cut these guys a break since they are trying to help everyone as a community......not screw other members.

There has to be something to make it easier for garage mod people to sell what they do.

I think that this could be a good idea, but I'ld like to hear more about it, and input from the admins, mods, and other members.

However, I guess if they wanted, they could put a link to something in their sig. Or something that said "PM me for details about...."

wouldnt that still be considered selling on evom? sometimes the rules just seem a bit fuzzy....

I myself am not a vendor I am just trying to create a little slack for those guys that go the extra mile to try and help out the community but end up getting shut down.

Yes, it probably would. Unfortunately though, often times the lines are not as clear as we all wish that they were.

Agreed. Give it a day or two and see what the mods have to say.

i for one am a big fan of people hooking each other up with a comporable product for a cheaper price. i dont have oodles of money to spend on my car. i think this is a great idea!
jsut one question: what would warrant that title?

maybe we should think about having a seciton for evom craftsman only! in like misc or something.....a place where only evom craftsman can post. have the site do like a one time fee thing so the site doesnt get screwed on the business, and then make it so only craftsman can create threads in the section...but regulars can still comment in the threads to discuss products. I think that would work out well.

agreed. why punish someone who was here for the community, supplying stuff that no one else did just because a vendor puts things up for sale (way after the fact)? it's kinda like slamming the door in the guys face after all he did was try to help you. there must be a better way settle these matters, after all the non vendor sellers are only trying to help us. so what if they make some money on the side, they help us=we help them.

becuase the EVOM craftsmen are normally Fulltime work , part time school and have to spend theyre precious time with theyre daughter. this is why EVOm craftsmen should go away and If I does get implemented EVOm MODs need a way to control people selling stuff before they've created it and then giving people the cold shoulder when they want theyre product like promised. too much headache for the mods to worry about

Man, someone needs to take that dick out of their *** and relax......it sounds like a good idea, but i guess id would have to hear some guidelines, otherwise it could get a little fuzzy. It would help out the so called "craftsmen" will selling their products though......i dont know, i guess we'll have to see how people feel about this

Mark simply prefers that anyone who's going to fabricate an item to advertise for sale become a vendor. Not the "hey, I made one extra" guy but the "hey, if anyone ever needs this, PM me". Otherwise, why would the current vendors continue to pay the montly fee to be a vendor when they can run around for free? Without revenue Mark loses the ability to run the site (because all of the OT, picture heavy, the way more posts than needed "search noob!" and "yeah, me too" threads take up bandwidth everytime someone looks at them- and it ain't free). Then the craftspeople and vendor-businesses lose their venue for sales.... then Mark has to crack down on private fabrication sales and start charging vendor fees again....

It's a nice idea, but as one of these craftspeople and as a former vendor here, I don't think it's going to go anywhere
