I just wanted to suggest making it a requirement to have __ # of posts before being able to create a new thread. This can lower the amount of spammers registering on the site just to make "Free $500 gift card from ___!" threads.

 

can they make the ones for only $50 dollars then

Seriously though, there are advantages and disadvantages to doing this.

Advantages: Hopefully cut down on spammers
Disadvantages: Instead of making a new thread they will spam other people's threads.

Also, what if someone has a legit question that is an emergency kind of question but cannot post it because they aren't allowed to post a thread yet...

 

Well it will help. About something like, they have to PM one the mods and tell their information before they can sell something?

 

It won't really do anything to help stop spamming. Instead, you'll just get people spamming up your threads with 2 character posts until their post count is up enough to create their own crap thread.
