Couple Suggestions

1) I think having a video section where we could just go to watch drag racing videos would be a good enhancement to the forum.

2) Upgrade sequence this way I can stop reading the same post over and over about what to do first and what kind to buy.

i think a vids section would be nice too, however it could only be real track races. And I'm sure people would try to post illegal races.

This has been discussed ad nauseam. Please do some reading first.

Spend just a little more time on here, and the basic upgrade sequence will become very clear... But if you need it spelled out for you, I can give you the rough idea of it, but the further up you go on "it" the more choices you have... Plus, remember that the "basic" upgrade sequence isn't the same for everyone because everyone is doing something different with their cars... First thing I would do if your car is going to be a track monster is strip it of all unecessary weight, but that's definitly not the first thing anyone would recommend on a general basic upgrade list. I'm not saying your idea is stupid, I'm just saying the best thing to do is to post "Hey, I want to run 10s" or "Hey, I want to be like Kent Jordan" or "Hey, I just want to be able to beat that stock Z06 around the track"

Thanks for the info man... I am trying to collect all i can... Right now it is not fit for me to have a 10 second evo the wallet is not big enough, I just thought the upgrade sequence would be good for newbies so they dont have to be asked to do a search all the time. I really appreciate you being nice in the way you posted that.

Yeah, I realize you're not looking for a 10 second Evo, hardly anyone's wallet is big enough.

Here's one for you, at least as far as I have learned:

Boost gauge
Boost controller (may or may not be necessary)
Exhaust
Intake or Drop-in Filter (not necessary)
Cams/Tune somewhere in here
Clutch/Tranny/Transfer-Case -- Any of the following may be needing replacement now
Then the next area is where it gets fuzzy, at least for me... Turbo-upgrade, suspension, tires, rims, body kit, stereo system, alky injection, stand-alone tuning system, etc.

Again, I'm just saying that this is what I have come to underestand and any of the following can be done in whatever order they can happen at (like if a friend gives you some new rims, might as well put them on of course)... But that should help give you a good rough idea. And as example of what I was saying that the list can change, if what you wanted to do is mainly track race, I would tell you the first thing you should buy is some R-Compound tires over an exhaust or gauges. And it's also still all opinion, obviously a lot of people would put a Blow-off Valve up there too, but IMO that only comes when you end up actually needing it, instead of before hand.

Anyway, you're right, EvoM is full of jerks who would tell you to SEARCH if you posted "What do I need to do to get a 10 second Evo?" And we all know how well the search works... Like Yahoo! in the 1990s. And I am now putting that as a quote in my sig... Good luck in your journeys 05SilverEvoVIII, and remember that there are those of us on here that have a little bit of patience (as I do my own fair share of yelling at the 30,000th repost of the Evo X pics, etc...)

it depends also on if you do all your mods at once or not. but the general first few mods are exhaust, boost controller and gauge, some type of tune. it also depends on your goals and your service manager at your dealer. if he is like mine he won't void your warranty unless you crack open your engine, change injectors and fpr, or have a ton of hp. if that the case then cams is not on the list. i want a works 02 housing, a flash, a fmic, and a forge wastegate, clutch/flywheel to complete my mod process and retain my warranty.

Bingo, futher proving my point that a directly defined list is very hard to say... If someone told Naper to get cams, he'd be screwed out of a warranty, so he takes a different path.
