The members are free to question and discuss any vendor claim. The moderators intervene when the issues get personal and belligerent. If a member post a reasonable question and concern that has a purpose (i.e. solve a problem) it is not removed. If it is clear the purpose is simply to stir the pot and serves no purpose it is removed. The point is that the content of a post is just as important as how it is stated. Calling someone a thief and a liar will not get much support and will get the post trashed. Hope this helps.
Speedlimit.....
As with any other vendor on the forum, we advise people to take it up with them.
If they say no, getting online and *****ing isn't going to change their mind, or make them more sympathetic to your cause. Please also note: evom has no control over them, we are just a forum for knowledge.

sorry to go off topic but every time you post something roberK and i see you avitar, i just amd sickened. That is like the only cartoon that really freaks me out...
sorry for going of topic.
sorry for going of topic.
Here is the problem I have with that RobertK and I know you don't make the rules, but when a vendor has been proven to do wrong on the Forum you ban them from getting on here. Is it therefore ok to let vendors charge us whatever they feel on here? To limit access to products that should be available away from the board?
Where do you guys step in on the business side?

speed- my comment was directed primarily at the folks who came along and said that it is the vendors that keep this place running. Which is one side of the coin. Blaze presented the other. I have, basically, stopped coming here because I see one vendor dominating the threads and worse their legion of followers step all over any rational discussions and they themselves have come along and been childish. If more did the same, stopped coming here and certianly didn't buy a company's products, then vendors would have to rely on more traditional outlets for their "marketing" and EvoM vendorship wouldn't be worth what they're paying. And I was saying is as a former silver vendor I didn't get away with anything- every thing, every method, every material, every process was questioned and mods didn't delete threads on my behalf (I did have to beg them to delete posts that were basically "you f***ing suck" but didn't specify what the problem was). Then I made the leap of logic that maybe what these folks are saying is that it's not that a company is a vendor that gives them carte blanche, but the SIZE of the vendor check that's being written that gives them more weight to throw around. That's all
Man... seems this is going way in the wrong directions. I know i wasn't making payments big enough to give me any kind of freedom like you're suggesting Alchy.
I certainly don't think any vendor is. However i do think that the mods, some of which litterally hate my guts, are doing what they think is right. If a vendor doesn't release something then how can you FORCE them to do so. There is no way that can be done.
What many don't see are the countless emails that have been sent to RRM from some people. Then the countless phone calls made to Split Second to get the software and buy piggybacks from them directly. Even try to get the maps developed by RRM for the piggyback. It's all PIRACY and very ILLEGAL.
However it will happen as no one wants to be told NO... and nobody likes being shut out on anything they don't feel they should be.
That being stated... the issue of RRM and the piggyback software is indeed an issue. It has been a rising debate for some time and RRM is going to be making a thread to address it. I can't say anything more about the outcome of this topic but what i can say is that they are listening to the customers requests and trying to do the best they can to accomodate things in such a way that no one gets hurt including RRM.
There is a lot of liability in making a step like this... there's also the chance that their name may get labeled as selling a product that did damage when infact it was the customers own lack of knowledge, misuse of product, or other personal error that caused the issue. While a company can stand behind the lines of LIMITED LIABILITY that doesn't always make it right.
RRM doesn't want to see a customer unsatisfied... they don't want to hear an "I blew my motor with RRM Piggy" speach either. Nor do they want to feel in any way responsible for handing a "loaded gun" to a child or "tuning challenged" person.
While there is more info on these boards than most and tuning your own car should be easy since the info is out there... putting all that info together and making an understanding of the tuning process is not done in writting. It's a skill learned over time and often forged in oil and grease as you rebuild a few trial and error projects.
I came off real harsh to blaze. Basically due to the fact that i know he's been poking Split Second, RRM, ROCK, anyone he can to get the software. Piracy, no matter what the means, is still illegal and unwanted. I know RRM doesn't like being pushed just like no other vendor would. In the end the same fundamental rule applies... if you don't like it, agree with it, or feel right about it... DON'T BUY IT.
Plain and Simple... Don't buy it if it's not everything you want. If there is a way to improve it then offer that suggestion but if the suggestion is shot down don't go off on a rant tearing at the topic. Especially if you can't win and know you can't from the start. That's just a waste of time and further closes the person out from responding in your favor.
I'm sure RRM will settle this soon... i've said my comments to them and offered a few suggestions myself in order to promote the softwares release. It's just gotta be good in a business stand piont and since i don't own RRM only that person can make the final decision. No amount of whinning, complaining, begging, bashing, etc... will change that.
For now i hope it does get released along with a release in any and all responsibility for RRM. This will free up the phones and emails so that RRM can develope more products on more cars. If you had any idea of how many phone calls and emails RRM gets EVERY day you'd understand that any freedom from this would help in their other areas and other product developement. It's amazing what they accomplish with only a few people working there... which right now i think is a wopping 4 guys... and only 2 are full time!!

I wasn't even referring to you. At all. And as for the splitsecond box, I just want to go on record as stating that none of it has anything to do with me so I don't want to get dragged into that mess
I only got involved in this discussion when the meatheads decided to pop off about vendor impunity.

I am glad a mod posted up that it was their doing to close the thread. I did not prompt any mods to close the thread. I did not feel threatened at all regarding your request. I was not happy that Blaze mislead folks. You have PMed me regarding software on Nov 1. and I answered you. You indicated no. ROBERTK told you why the thread was closed, it had nothing to do with us asserting ourselves at all, in fact I was surprised to see it closed. Now I understand. Forum cannot be used as a means for illegal dealings. Many people are used to trading CDs etc... that they forget it is copyrighted and the intellectual property of a person or corp.
ROBERTK please make it clear that RRM had no part in the closing of the previuos thread. I do not appreciate people coming to the conclusion that we had any part in that. Thanks

It's like slapping a teacher that fails you on a test. Wasn't the teachers fault... had nothing to do with the other faculty members either... so why slap em. In the end we are all responsible for our own actions. The mods simply followed the rules of the board but a member thinks it's their fault but not his. Guess some people gotta learn the hard way though.
Hope that makes sense... at times i trully have no idea what the hell i'm saying/typing but i figure post it anyway.
