Moderator's have to much control

I really feel moderators have to much control over the post that members are posting to the board. They can edit or even delete your post if they feel like it. Thats not fair to everyone. I feel everyone is entitled to express their opinions. By the way, this is a free country you know!!! If you dont like what someone else has to say, then dont respond. Or do it with PM. If you post something that is offensive, then by all means delete it. But if it contructive criticism, then let it be. If the person cant take a joke, then maybe he shouldn't be here.

I would like everyone to be here to post what they feel, not what a moderator feels.

Well the fact we can't delete out posts. The Moderators are just doing their job to maintain a well run board. If they just let it go, the forums would turn into hell! Or even possibly destroyed?!?! As what I'm saying their just doing their job and enforcing the rules as they are applied. Their cool. We tend to get out of hand when their not there to stop or break the fights.

Not trying to be an *** but when you signed up you agreed to the following:
The moderators and administrators of evolutionm.net have the right to edit/open/close/move/delete any necessary posts.
They're just doing their duties.

These forums are run well, everyone is pretty respectful of one another and rarely does a post get modified?

I also believe that the moderators do a good job in this forum. We also have to remember that there are members of all ages on the boards(about 13 up to be a member). So I say thanks to moderators

Yeah, but this is not a free website. You, or I, do not pay the bill, therefore we have to abide by the rules laid down by the person (or people) who does/do. As was said before, you agreed to all this when you signed up.

I don't think I've ever seen a mod edit a post that didn't have some sort of graphic content in it. Feel free to prove me wrong and I'll see what can be done about it, but for the most part all we do is peruse new posts and make sure they're on topic, in the proper forums and without flames.

I dunno whose opinions we've been squelching or if you mean a mod or two in particular, but I (personally) haven't seen it. I would suggest though that if you mean it's one person in particular you also silently raise your concern to KK and let him know.

And yeah, the country's free, but the forums belong to Mark. His site, his server, his rules.

i actually think the Mods do a good job. The only time i've ever seen a post get deleted or edited is when things got completely OT or when it becomes a huge fight.

for the mods

That's what moderators do. They're The Law.

I'd highly suggest reading up on it.

Moderators are what keep us from devolving into a flamefest when people start problems. If it weren't for them, we'd be in some serious trouble.

Actually, I'd say for the most part the members themselves keep the convo civil. There are occasionally problem members, but even a good number of them learn to play well with others.

Considering the size of this site it's actually very low maintenance member wise. I've seen smaller sites with bigger problems. As far as getting people to search and post in the right forums though...

As far as having too much control/editing too much...I have never seem anything got trashed without a very valid reason (correct me if I'm wrong). Some member even PM'd me to delete some of their own posts/thread. If you are involved in a particular incident and you feel like the mod's decision is not suitable, I highly recommend you PM the mod to sort things out. We all tend to listen and response...

Every now and then we need a little of this from the mods. I know I sometimes do.

I don't know where you think we have too much control... all we can do is edit and delete w/in our own territory (where we mod). The members are pretty good about keeping it clean on their own, but the only problem I run into is crossposting, or just n00bs not searching first.
