Admin: Background check before vendors can sell here

I also think it's important to do a background check before any vendors want to sell at evom. Look at this thread

I don't think this vendor is reliable at all!

The moderators do not get involved in the commercial advertising, so I do not know what information is collected from new vendors. I do know that any member who has a problem with a vendor should contact a moderator. (As per our forum rules). Although we have zero authority to arbitrate commercial disputes, many times we can intervene and help the communication process.

My point is rather than asking about background checks, why not PM a moderator with the details of the problem? The mods have their own forum to hob nob and a consensus of recommendations can be made to the owner fairly quickly concerning a vendor problem. Thanks.

Thats the full list of moderators, super moderators, and admins, along with thier assigned sections.

What Speedlimit is saying is that, while we cannot force a vendor to make an action, we CAN help with the communication between the member and the vendor. As well, we ,being the super mods and moderators, are not involved in the revenue producing segments of the site, mianly only in the day to day board operation and enforcment.

I don't see anything wrong with this member starting a thread to ask what he wants to know. A PM would not have been a good choice imo.

We basically collect business license info, company background info, what they plan on selling on the site, and how long they have been in business. We try our best to collect as much info as we can so we can prevent fraud.

There are a lot of companies we have turned down because of red flags that come up during the initial vendor signup requests. Unfortunately there will be some cases where a company can slip through and appear legit. This is where it is import for user's to report fraudulent activity to a mod through PM so we can try to resolve the issue.
