How about starting a new forum category just for drag racing. Seems to be a whole lot of people interested in going fast in a straight line either at the track or on the street. Many vendors primarily cater specifically to that performance aspect as well. We could place all of those type posts under this new category. People can post time slips, tell stories, bragg about street drags, bench race about this one being quicker in the 1/4 than that one, or ***** about the fact that they lost on the street to a car that they clearly should have been able to beat, or visa versa.

All the related threads would be in one easy to locate place. If your into it, go to that forum, if not leave it alone.

Just a thought to try and help organize some of the drag posts which show up everywhere.

I guarantee you won't get anything encouraging street racing.

There is one for racing. Check the motorsports forums. No real reason to have a separate Evolution and Lancer section though.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I'm moving this to site feedback and suggestions.

 

I'm not a street, drag, or straight line racer. I was hoping to generate interest to move those kinds of posts to a central location.

If there is already a forum for racing, shouldn't all of the 1/4 mile, raced a 350Z..Cobra SVT, S2000, Z06 etc.. be moved to there?

KK (and therefore the site as a whole) really frowns upon street racing. Personally, I don't blame him. Hence the reason most get moved to OT where they're far less visible (i.e. don't show up on the main page when someone posts there).

 

I support that 100%. My original intent was to have someone move them from the main stream. They present a less than favorable image and create inaccurate perceptions about the majority of EVO owners and enthusiasts who are members of and support these forums.
