Photobucket Users Inside !!!
Photobucket Users Inside !!!
Photobucket has an inherent flaw in the way that they do things. I'm going to explain it to all of you, and how to protect yourself from it. Frankly i'm sick of it being so easy to get personal info on all of you. Here is the deal.......
From the start every photobucket site is open, that means anyone can see all of your pictures with some simple modifications to the image URL that you post. Here is a quick example i found while typing this all up.....
When you post an image on a forum or wherever, the link looks a bit like this
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1.../skyline-1.jpg
If you click the above it will take you to the picture specified, and only that picture.
here is that link one more time broken down
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1.../skyline-1.jpg
^Protocol used ^ Site ^^^^^^ Path ^^^Actual image
Now, if we remove the image name (skyline-1.jpg) and just leave the
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f174/Mase4g63/
It will take you straight to all of the users photo's....not good
The private setting is under account options please use it from now on for your own protection. Thanks !! hope i helped some of you, maybe this should be a sticky
Thanks to SPEED for being my example
