Question on sales.....

First, by no means am I starting trouble.

please only mods or admins/owner/s reply

Ok, What is the difference between a vendor and a private party selling the same thing? What seperates them?

I looked hi and low(maybe not well enough) and read the rules but nothing about what seperates them...

Thanks and feel free to lock remove or whatever this threads.

your answer will be greatly appreciated

Gary

private selling are from fellow members

vendor selling are from forum members who own some sort of shop, which can be online. they usually have to have a certain amount of merchandise before acquiring "vendor" status.

vendors parties selling new parts can usually sell them cheaper than private since the vendors probably got it for cheaper.

private parties usually sell used stuff, and vendors rarely sell used stuff.

A vendor is just that - someone that makes a living selling their parts.

A private seller is me selling my header after I upgrade. I'm not trying to make a living, I'm just selling one used part at a time.

One advantage is that vendors register with the site - if they screw you, we (EvoM) can do more with them to make it right. A private transaction is just that - we can't do much if you get jobbed...

Troublemaker.

Here's the difference - Vendors are businesses that, through a partnership with the site, are allowed to sell goods for a profit.

Private party sales are users that have something car-related that they wish to sell and may be of interest to other members here. In general, these sales are not for profit (as in, I bought this part for $300, but I need to get rid of it/it's used/sold the car, so I'm offering it for $200.) If we notice a private party selling multiples of one item over a period of time, and/or are appearing to sell things for profit, we'll shut them down.

That help?

thanks it does, do you guys have it spelled out for an idiot like me, I told a friend of mine I would look here to see what your rules are, this guy is my best friend and has a non import car site. He is a one man show. 5800 members. he has no mods. But some ppl are whoring parts in classifieds which others vendors sell...

Again I appreciate your answers but was sorta looking for wordage but please don't chop me off at the knees for asking, as I said before I highly respect you guys to keep the animals in their cages here ...

Thanks for the help and thanks for having this site, your site made my choice for my turner an easy one.

Cheers and happy holidays

Not sure what you're looking for. We have general rules, but we don't have actual text that says "this is a private sale, this is a vendor sale".

I don't understand you 100% - are you saying we did answer your question or no?
