the only way i've found to do this is to do an advanced search for my username. is there a quick link that i'm missing somewhere?

 

Right above the thread theres a button for "thread tools", hit that button and subscribe to the thread. Whenever you want to come back to it just hit the user control panel and it would be under subscribed thread.

 

also, you can automatically be set to subscribe to threads you post in. That can be set in your User CP (at the top left of your screen)
