Possible update to FAQs?

Was wondering if folks thought it may be a decent idea to update and expand the FAQs. As a rather new person to the forums I have looked long and hard to find as much information as quickly as possible and must say that it has not been all that easy. To top it off many members were less than gracious when questions were asked.

To these ends I think it may be nice to expand things a bit. Maybe post info on the history of the EVO, what makes it special, bits and pieces about the changes made from one model year to the next, weaknesses and strengths of models years and options, popular performance upgrades as well as disclaimers as to what damage can be done by doing some things to the car, sources for parts be them OEM or for upgrade parts with emphasis on the vendors who do right by EvoM.net as well as a guide to performance issues such as who makes 2 piece rotors, who makes BOVs, who does flashes, what size shoes and and rubber fit AND then link it all to respective FAQs for each particular section. Maybe even have stuff on competition and how to get started in track days or AutoX... the possibilities are endless and very cool.

I would be happy to lend a hand with this and try as best possible to compile data and cut and paste from the best info available and try to open stuff up to group input to make sure everything is accurate. At that point sticky it all and link it up...

Thoughts?

PS- This is not really my idea as much as an extension of the FAQs at tdiclub.com Please consider looking at their set up as its quite nice, easily managed and a good start for what we could use.

Not a bad suggestion. Most of that info is here, just not in one spot. There is also quite a bit in our features section which has many articles. I think a few threads that organize the information may not be bad. There are also stickies in many of the individual sections that go over some of this. I will take a look over the FAQ section to see what is missing and what needs to be updated

Thanks, I signed up at LancerReg today and found that they have a VERY nice system that is maybe better than what the TDI guys have but just not quite as complete. They have not finished some of the links yet but overall its very very tight.

If there is anything I can do to lend a hand please just say the word, I figure putting in a little effort is a fair price for having the information and community here.

Maybe something like this with details on US models only with maybe more ifo on options for those years?

http://www.lancerregister.com//mlr_showmodel.php

Their FAQs

http://www.lancerregister.com/misc.php?action=faq

Car geek FAQs... I found this to be very itneresting and helpful.

http://www.lancerregister.com/faqindex.php

I'm sure they have more stuff there and I don't condone just ripping off anothers format but this is pretty darn good and oh so helpful! Once again please let me know what I and we as a group can do as I don't think it's fair to ask for something to change but not be willing to pay a price for it.

We actually have quite a bit in our features section

FAQ
https://www.evolutionm.net/features/...?page=evomtech

User guide
https://www.evolutionm.net/features/article.php?id=54

The FAQ could use some more and maybe an update. The site user guide is pretty in depth

Thats all pretty good stuff. For some reason however I found dead links prior when I tried to use any of the articles on the front page. I wanted to read up on Project EVO, the WIR trip and several others and found nuttin. Good to see it's working now.

The article system was down for about month while we were recoding it for the upgraded software. Will be up now for good. We are also revamping the site a little more including the features section to make it easier to use and navigate. There is a world of info on this site, just needs to be organized a bit admittably
