astericks

I noticed that if any webpage is mentioned about another Evo site it will get the astericks treatment while other webpages listed are left alone. Can nothing be mentioned about other webpages. I don't think all the members on EvoM will leave forever at the mention of another Evo website. There is alot of usefull info on the boards here. As a community of Evo enthusiast we should be willing to share all the info about Evo's even if it's on another Evo forum.

I didn't know we had that feature.

Apparently we do. LOL. And it is selective. I think I know the reason, but rather than speculating, Ali or Charles can provide a definitive answer to your question. It could be as simple as Ali having WAAAY to much fun tinkering with all the new features of this VB version.

What is the URL that got asterisk bombed? www dot xxx

Works the same as the profanity filter.

I'm positive there is a good reason we had that particular site blocked.

Sorry, Ali had a little to much fun trying out the new site features. ******* was not intended to be blocked and we have fixed it.

However, we do block certain sites, not because they are necessarily competing sites, but because of how they operate. Site owners or affiliates are not permitted to promote their competing sites or business sites on this site. This is a bit rude we feel and attempts to undermine our site. If a member happens to link to or mention it, thats fine. There is another evo site that we blocked because the people involved with that site were heavily promoting it on here, attempting to scalp vendors, and failed to be cooperative when confronted. I have personally spoke with ******* ownership and get along with them just fine.

We also block other problem sites that have nothing to do with competition. We try to leave as much open as we can within this so as not to prevent our members from getting all the information they can.
