The Search Button

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. I could be totally out of line here, but here's the deal. It seems like now, more than ever, there have been random questions that could have been answered by using the search button. There are so many topics that have been talked about that it's hard to think that there has not been some type of information available about the issues you need to talk about. I mean at least gather some kind of background information before hand and then post your questions. Some people get upset when some of the senior members tell them to search. Well, when you have answered as many question as they have, you are bound to get jaded. Chances are, they have already answered your question in a previous thread, which means they know the answer is there, and you just need to find it. Now, I agree that the forums are here for all of us to learn about our passion, and some might say that it's necessary to ask questions to spark more thought. I partially agree, but the more useful and correct information you bring to the thread the better. I'm done, I hope more people search, and are not offended by this post, as it was meant to help better the community. Peace

If you searched you'd see that theres one of these rants coming up almost every month just playing but yes it does seem that lately people are getting too lazy to search for their answers

How would someone know that there question has already been posted and answered if they are brand new to the forums. I can see if they have already been a member and are posting, but most of the new members don't have a clue and are looking for answers so just point them in the right direction
Everyone was new at some point in time.

i feel you totally, most of the time that I'm on here i feel like I'm in a room by myself searching, lol.

but i feel, with discretion, that some topics can be brought up again even if covered before. NOT blow-off valves!

scenario: alot of what we look at as "newbies" are only newbies to the forum not cars or racing. so they have no plans on searching to answer a 6 month old question, so the insight and answers when brought back up is very useful. plus the auto world changes and not everyone runs back to "update" the thread.

If someone posts a question about a blow off valve or some **** that pisses you guys off, why even reply? Just ignore them. The way some of you talk, every question asked should have an answer, so why is anyone even posting at all?

Whats the loudest blow off valve I can get for my Evo JJ JJ

People just need to relax. you really don't realize how much you know until someone starts asking you questions.

Yes, some topics should be brought up again. I think that is where, during your intro, while asking your questions, one should bring up previous information that they have found during their searching. This way everyone can be brought up to speed about what it is that they are confused about, while at the same time reminding everyone you have searched and are at a loss. Just a thought.
