We need a Nitrous Injection Section!

More and more people are experimenting with nitrous injection. It would be nice to consolidate the available information in one place. How about adding a nitrous sub section in the advanced forums.

I'm considering it at the moment as i just got a wet NOS kit from a buddy and am probably gonna do a 75 shot into the uicp...if it's installed right and tuned right, which i plan on doing myself with my buddies, it's very beneficial, as long as you don't do it every day, which is why i'm using a window switch which is for WOT only....

I can't see a reason to justify another subforum just for N2O. It's up to the Admins of course though.

Do a search with the word "Nitrous" in the title. Seven pages of topics come up. Many with several page threads. There is a lot of interest.

This forum is coming up 6 years old and covers 3 different models. There is a lot of information on just about every subject, but that doesn't necessitate the creation of a forum for every single mod. I'm willing to bet there are more ebay resistor "20whp chip" threads than nitrous threads, lamentably, and we don't have a forum for them. We don't have an intake forum. We don't have an exhaust forum. We don't have a springs forum and a coilover forum. We have quite a large forum tree to begin with, and when it comes to adding new ones, especially at this point with a reorganization coming up, it helps to have a compelling reason. IMO there's nothing special about nitrous that distringuishes it from any other form of engine/turbo mod or tuning for it apart from any other form of tuning. Call me crazy, but please post a compelling reason if you have one (aside from volume of posts). Again, it's not my call, but the more reasons you have the better your case will be to the admins. My opinion doesn't count anymore than yours does.

Nitrous tuning can be much different than other power adders. Cam profiles, head designs and timing values can all be drastically different that any other type of tuning (if you want to maximize power). I think that more and more people are experimenting with nitrous. Comparing having a nitrous section to an exhaust or intake section is just silly.

My suggestion would be to add a Nitrous Injection sub-category, under Evo Advanced.

Ahnewbis's should stay far away from nitrous.

I think its a good idea. By adding a sub-forum for nitrous, people will have an easier time finding out stuff about n20 and it will make searching easier, Thus leading to less worthless threads

My point is, tuning for nitrous is essentially tuning for a lean and hot burn. Anyway..I'm sure we'll have a ruling soonish. Admins must be busy.

Where would you guys have this added? As a tuning subsection, or a engine subsection. There are really two different topics at hand. One of which is using nitrous in general which i think can be handled in the engine/power section. The other is tuning for nitrous. We could add a new subsection for nitrous like the water/alcohol section. I just don't know wether there is enough need for a whole other section for it though rather than just adding it to the description of that one. I definitely do not think there is need for another general tech section just for nitrous. I also do not think it really belongs in advanced unless we just again add it to the water/alchohol. Ultimately, I thinking adding it to those two existing section's titles is probably the way to go. I prefer making an adjustment than adding yet another section if possible

I think that it is much different than methanol/water injection. One sub-section anywhere you choose should cover it. Thanks for addressing it.

I agree that its totally different, just like water injection is different then alocohol, but there is room in there and we can just make it an injection subforum. We could also do a trial run with a seperate section and if its not busy enough, just merge it in with other injections
