Vendor Q's...

Hi mods and staff.
As we all are aware with recent vendor, things got messy.
I realize it's our choice ultimately to buy from certain individuals/company.
However, is there any possibilities to do some kind of profiling the new possible vendor's to try to protect the members from this recent circus?
I also realize that none of you folks aren't getting paid to add more work to your lives outside evom, but this recent event has made me think twice before ordering from certain vendors.

This question might be extremely difficult, but just a suggestion/request from me as an individual to prevent another possible scam, at least from a questionable vendor.

Thank you for your time
Akisan2, Ray

That is a good question/comment, and one we already have taken into account long ago. We do our best to make a balance of making it possible for new vendors to sign up and at the same time assuring some protection to our members.

Signing a new vendor:
Before a company may be a vendors, they first supply us with basic information about them and their business which we look over. If it is a known problem business, we deny them right there. If they pass that step, then they are required to fill out and sign a vendor agreement contract which has provisions in it for consequences of doing bad things. Specifically forfitting of you vendor account and any fees already paid. Not to mention a ruined reputation. It also requires valid proof of a legal business

We do not have the resources to take it much beyond this with background checks and such. I would love to impliment having vendors put up say a 500 bond for the first year or so that they forfit if something goes wrong and pay it to the wronged party, but the reality is almost no one would sign up with this requirement good or bad

We have also started limiting new vendor signups for niche vendor types. For example, right now there is a waiting list to sell HID kits on this site since we already have 3 vendors for that.

And once there is a complaint:
So everyone knows, I will also explain the process for when there is a complaint. First we receive or see a complaint abouta vendor. If they posted it in the review section without approval, we remove it untill we can verify the complaint. We do this because we have had unjust or false negative reviews posted that have wrongly hurt a businesses reputation. Once we verify that there is a problem, we try to work with both parties to come up with a solution. 95 percent of the time, we come up with a solution that makes both parties happy or at least satisfied and these complaints are usually the result of a miscomunication. If the vendor comes through as promised, we move on but do take note. If the customer still feels they had a valid customer service issue, they may still post a negative review even after is has been resolved as long as they note all the facts.

If the vendor does not come through as promised after a fair amount of time, then we have an issue. This very very rarely happens. If they fail to devlier ona part, refund, or service, after fair time, they are removed.

If a vendor repeatedly has troubles, even if they do resolve each issue, they may still be removed. In this case, we would generally ask you the members for you opinions.

It is very rare that we encounter a serious problem that does not get solved but when it does its unfortunate. One way to be more sure is to wait for feedback on a new vendor if you are not familiar with them before making a transaction
