Slow site (merge thread)

Regular surfing isnt as bad, but trying to do a search and I might as well go make some popcorn... and by the time I eat that bag of popcorn, the search STILL wont be finished. I think the problem needs to be addressed or is this a server issue?

I'm...so...pleased...to...see...this...thread. I...thought..it...was...only...me...who...thinks.. .this...forum...is...s--l--o--w.

This forum is so good I'd gladly pay a subscriber fee. First off, it would keep the rif-raph away. Secondly, the faster this forum is the more valuable it would be for each of us.

If you would have taken the time to look only a half-page down, you would have noticed a thread with information on this problem. Short of it is that the admins are still doing upgrades and replacing equipment.

You know, I would have............but..........I couldnt justify doing a search on a search- and the 10-15 minutes it would have taken to do that; I would have much rather saved that personal time with a new post. Capisce?

It's probably because of something you did.

Its slow because you touch yourself....jk

Just a random slow down this morning, no specific reason. As I mentioned on a previous thread, we have another new, yet excessively more powerful database server on the way to help deal with the ever increasing load we are seeing. So with any luck at all, the slow downs should be completely alleviated very shortly.

Exclamation Slow site (merge thread)

IMO, Due to the high traffic of members and on lookers, I think evom should start a donation jar and get a bigger hosting package or move to a better host that allows for Bandwith and such.
Lately the forums has been getting crowded resulting in slow loading and so forth.
I would be willing to make a contribution to this also.
Would anyone else be willing to support evom and contribute to this?
If you would like to contribute please post here and maybe the main moderators will think it through.

Thanks.

Jonathan.

the slow down has nothing to do with bandwidth, it's the fact that we are getting 2k new members a week and the server can't keep up. If you had read the "site slow" thread you would have noticed the owner is upgrading the servers in a few weeks.
