Every time I click on a Works forum thread my laptop displays a message about wanting to start a new connection to the internet. Never happens in any other forum but ALWAYS happens in Works forum. My machine is connected via a cable modem but there is a second dial up connection on the system for when I'm on the road. When I go to the Works forum it wants to start the dial up connection.

Anybody else seeing something like this?

 

Does it do it in any of the other vendor forums? Almost sounds like one of those dialer programs. I like to think of them as marketing viruses. But so far it seems you're the first with this problem.

 

Sounds like you're using Windows. In your browser, on the Tools->Options tab, you can set whether Windows should dial if it can't connect to a web server. You can disable this option so your browser will always use your cable connection.
