Signature Images

I'm sure this has been brought up before, but how about it?

I can understand the concern about people having too big / too many images in their signature, but it's not like it wouldn't be hard to moderate. Just allow members with so many posts to be able to add a signature image within a certain size of the rules and bam.

Disable it for those who break the rules

I vote against this. I've always hated scrolling through forums with signature images.

The issue isn't with moderating the images, it's that it clutters up the page, slows load times, and is aesthetically annoying. Text signatures clutter things enough, sig pictures just end up making the site that much harder to read.

please dont, the local forums are flooded with tasteless political sigs. it gets old, and some of us dont always have a good internet connection and it takes long enough to load some of the threads without the pics.

Hm, I think you should just limit size of a signature. Most sigs are bigger than a banner I wanted to put in my signature, as far as number of lines it takes up, especially ones with lots of quotes. Durnit... I wanted my evogirls on there....tehehe.

Yes, obviously, but my point is that length wise, the banner I want takes less room than say, your signature. Haha. Scrolling factor still is there. No fair

Issue is my signature does not require mobile users to download an image. And a moving .gif file is aesthetically terrible for site appearance.
