a 100 post min for the "for sale" section could just lead to unprecedented levels of whoring. how about requiring you to be a member for a certain amount of time.. say a month.

as for the OT, i'm for a minimum or a point scale system because there are just tons of useless threads on evom.

Our current requirement is 50 on-topic posts and 30 days as a member. I was going for either upping the 50 to 100 or the 30 days to 90-180 days.

I think both the 100 posts along with 90 - 180 days would be best.

Yeah, I hear ya on that....a lot of our members have the same feelings. The only limitation is our software, which does not distinguish between selling or buying. Right now the only way to make this happen would be manually, which would put a lot of pressure on the Mod staff. We are looking into it, though.

just because you dont post silly questions or bump some random guys thread doesnt mean you should be limited. i got stage fright. it should be 50 post or X amount of days. this is not stopping people from scamming. its just prolonging it.

I like the idea of changing how hard it is for people to sell stuff. I think increasing the wait time for starting a for sale thread is a good idea. if you want to buy you can just pm the seller. is there a way to make it so only the op can post in their for sale thread? so they can bumb their thread or update the item is sold. this would make it so you can increase the length of time for sellers only. also you could make it so the seller must have a verified paypal account. this might increase security.

That would be huge but then again the mods are limited to the software they use so something like that would require quite a bit of coding although it would be one of the best ways to reduce most fraud.

The 50 post limit to post a WTB or post a response to a thread sucks. I bought a car on here through PM and would have bought numerous parts on here if it weren't for the 50 post limitation. I personally would like to see it at a 10 day 5 post limitation for buyers. That would help existing members sell products.

Anyway, just a thought from a Newb waiting for my 30 days and wondering how I can make 50 posts when I don't have anything useful to say at the moment. ;-)

I like the fact that your not going to go around and post a bunch of garbage in the forums, just to get your post count up. We need more members like you.
