I have a lot of PMs that contain useful info that I don't want to delete and also conversations that I would like to keep.

PMs cant take up that much space for the site. Maybe offer space increase for those who request it?

You could always transfer your convo's to like a word document or email to save them and delete them after.

How much more do you need? You can hardcopy PM's to your desktop for reference if needed, or create more space by deleting sent items as others have said. What is the right number? 200, 400, 800, 6,000? I don't know what other sites have as a limit, but I've never had an issue as a member and I'm still on the low side now as an Admin.

if you couldn't export them I'd agree with you

but you can clear your pm box and still keep them...vb even gives you multiple choices of exporting them

Pretty much. If your inbox is full of PMs with critical info, use the export feature to compile them into a document on your computer.
