No notification if thread moved/closed?

I've noticed this a few times since I began posting here. If a mod sees fit to move or close a thread, he does so without notifying the creator of the thread. The only way to find out where it was moved (unless the mod posts) is to search for it. This seems unnecessary to me, and pretty frustrating.

Would a PM be too much to ask?

Typically, and as a matter of good practice, a private message is sent to the original poster when a thread is moved. When closing, a simple post suffices. However we do not individually notify everyone who posted in the thread, nor do we leave redirects because they're horribly messy when you're talking about a forum on the scale of EvolutionM.net.

If you're citing a specific example, some details would help as well.
