Hey guys I still think this site is very, very good BUT, I starting to get very annoyed at the lack of forward progress. New info seems to be overwelmed by the constant SAME questions by newibies who 1) don't take the time to read the rules 2) Are just too damn lazy to do a search ( I have never had problems looking up info, so all this "I did a search and came up with nothing" is BULL****.
My suggestion would be: either give some more "veteran people" the right to lock up particular redundant threads OR you guys(MOD) lock up and delete. Just let the original poster know why first. This site IS and CAN be very useful...but the direction it going is disturbing. Other sites (Lancer register) rarely has redundant post (i.e. which exhaust, EVO vs STI, clutch problem? BOV: recirc or VTA and list goes on and on) PLEASE HELP

On behalf of the moderators of Evolutionm.net I would like to state that all efforts are being made to curb the repetative newbie questions. We have a forum dedicated to this type of thing... called the "Newbie Forum". Everytime a moderator runs into a redundant thread, they move it to this "Newbie Forum" so that it doesnt clutter up the more important new information. The moderators can't be everywhere at once, so please bear with us as we try our best to keep the forums clean. Thanks.

I think what he meant was, dont move em to newbie forum, instead point said newbie to one of the various threads already containing that info and delete the new one... there really are too many reposts on the same subject.. have people continue old ones before starting up a new one

We do that when we can. The search function is limited in its precision, but I agree that it's overall very effective at answering the vast majority of "new" questions asked (especially for the Lancer which has two full model years under its belt in the US now). There's nothing we can really do to make people use the search function though.

I know most moderators are more helpful with linking to other threads than I am most of the time (since I browse mostly from work it's a sorta pop-in, pop-out thing for me), but it really depends upon the question.

Truthfully, I'd love to delete every single one of the threads, but we'd get too many complaints. Sometimes I just don't get to be the jerk I wanna be, and sometimes I don't get to be the nice guy I wanna be. What a predicament.
