Yes, patiently awaiting something for Android.

I have Tapatalk already which I use for my other forums.

If it is not difficult or costly to install on the serves, maybe consider doing it anyhow so people with Tapatalk can use it to browse the forum if they so choose.

While I agree it is valiant to steer people towards free options, the fee for Tapatalk is a one-time fee of $2 or like $5 for the upgraded version. Additionally, I find the site rather easy to navigate in my browser as a full site. However, for speed and ease, I would much prefer Tapatalk.

This is, again, all in regard to how much effort and cost it would incur for the forum. If it is free for the forum but costs the users money, then it is the users' choice to use Tapatalk. I think it would be nice to make the option available if you can.

Cheers,

Jack

Hi Jack,

We are awaiting the release of a mobile version of Evom from IB. I believe it is going to be sooner than later. We'll post an announcement when it's up and running. Thanks.

We have tested the site for every major phone we can think of. Android is for sure one of them.

TapaTalk is certainly the way to go for forums on the iPhone. Im waiting on my new Droid X... the speed in the store loaded EvolutionM very fast on Verizon's network so I don't see any issues with just browsing it.

I think those with slow phones need the apps.

I think, at least for some, it's more an issue of having a site that is formatted for smaller screens than it is speed. Even on smartphones with 4" screens navigating the site can be a bit tedious.

not sure if that is the issue, you dont need to squeeze all the advertisements on to the app to make people happy. In fact, I would prefer to not have 25% of the right side of my screen a vertical advertisement, and the 25% of my top screen to do the same... I do believe that advertisements are key for a forums success in order to keep it free, but in the case of a mobile app, a simple home, search, recent, and quick links up top followed by categories with sub sections under it.

Others are doing it, try out the AVS forum app for the iphone. It is a good start, and I navigate it like i do the real website.

I think you misunderstood the point of my post. I was countering his point that only slow phones would benefit from an app.

Ill play devils advocate and say please DO NOT install Tapatalk. Ive tried it and dont like the interface and when I go to forums that have it enabled when not using it I get the stupid "This site is...bla bla...".

I click no, but it pops up on almost every page.

OK, fine by me as long as they do something else instead. Any chance they could emulate EvoM to how facebook works on a smartphone?

Thanks for the reply. I have not seen the mobile site yet, so those are questions that will have to wait. I'm hoping it will be implemented here within the next month. I have been told it's in testing on a limited number of small sites to work out any problems. Thanks.

Again folks, there are no plans to incorporate Tapatalk on Evom as it is a fee based app. Thanks.
