Level forums
I have seen a bunch of threads recently about the amount of BS that comes across this board and none of them have done much to solve the problem. Maybe this will work....
Set the site up into member levels. I mean that there will be a board for Evo General:Newbie and Evo General: Evolving Member etc.
Everyone is allowed to read these boards but only people at the level of Newbie:Evolving:Evolved:Moderator can post on the particular board that meets their member level.
This will bring alot of GOOD information into one spot without out all of the "yeah good times", "what mods do you have" crap that is filling up the board.
People could also subscribe to the higher level forumns to get the information from the guys that have it and not the "I turned my boost to 28 psi and it kicked ***" crowd.
Just a thought....

I think the concern is that people will post barely, if at all, relevant information at lower levels just to get to higher level forums. And of course there they may proceed to post stupid, useless "what mods do you have" crap. Anyway, we try to discourage post count related promotion and there are too many active members for our staff to monitor users on an individual basis unless they fall on either the particularly helpful or particularly assbag side of the spectrum.
Another important issue I forgot about is that when someone like (let's just say) David Buschur, who clearly knows what's going on, signs up and has his posts relegated to the newbie forums chances are pretty good they're not going to stick around. We have several EXTREMELY intelligent, experienced and otherwise hugely helpful members with low member status, simply because they don't post much. I think it would be unfair to them to tell them they can't share their knowledge just because they're a "newbie".
