Well I had a really nice and long drive all by myself coming home for christmas this year (12 hours straight through) so I had some time to think. And one of the things I ended up thinking was how nice it would be to have track information at my fingertips. It is actually really hard to find complete track information without already knowing all the tracks in your area, and I thought it would be nice to have a system where you can find tracks and the detailed information about them.

So here is what I was thinking:
I have no idea how you would want to implement this, maybe a new registry (I don't know how hard those are to set up) but if there was a track registry where you could browse by region/state and then pick the tracks (which have the city name listed with them) and it would give you detailed information like location, hours, dates, contact info, track details and then a section where users could submit reviews of the track. It would be a great feature, at least I think so.

Just an idea I wanted to throw out.

If people gather information on tracks, locations, contact info, whether they're open to the public, whether they offer instructions, car spec requirements (i.e. cages and other safety equipment) and send it to me I'd be happy to put it all together as a sticky in the Motorsports forum.
