Experience points
Help me understand how the experience points work here on Evolutionm.net.
I look at my activities page and constantly see that I gain points, and then loose points. It doesn't say why. It just shows +points, -points and the time it occurred.
I have less points now then I did when I had only been on the site for a month. I have never had a problem with a mod or received any flack for posts that I've made.

Hi,
The points go up and down as the system is constantly re-calculating, sometimes seemly inexplicably. Did you look at your 'Activities' page?

Not to sound condescending, but did you read my post? Yes, I look at 'Activities' page. Last night for expample, I gained 140 points and then 10 min later, lost 140 points. Help me understand how someone gains points and losses points. Otherwise, this is a usless system of "expereince" and should be done away with.
I heard it depends on the post your posting in.
If its a relevant post your points go up, if its a lame duck your points drop.
Someone else correct me if I'm wrong.
See now that I posted in here my points went down! Lol

I make no assumptions about a users experience with experience
and ask the same question first when trying to help. I cannot audit your individual points, perhaps the threads linked below will help? If not, then I suggest you ignore it. Thanks.https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...xperience.html

The big negative posts are likely one of two things:
1) A thread you started and replied in frequently got trashed.
2) Your profile was changed and when you logged back in, you lost the points you had previously gained. I don't fully understand this one, but most of the larger negative activities are "lost -XX Filled Profile points". Your profile is currently 140 points, so I'm guessing when you log in you lose those points, then gain them back when you log off / time out. That doesn't make much sense but it matches what you're seeing.

Who decides that's relevant and what isn't? And your points when down for partisapating in "site feedback and suggestions." Wow. This is my point.
vBExperence:
"The system is setup to promote use of some aspects of the community, which get ignored, or which are not utilized to their full potential. In that sense, the introduction of this system 'may' improve your experiences within the community. You are also free to ignore it, and carry on as usual."
I will ignore it and carry on as usual since it makes no since and there are no defined reasons or rules to raise or lower experence points.
