I say we have atleast one mod or admin each state, but like... with a back-up, so more or less... 2 of them from each state, cuz everyone has problems at a certain time that NOT ALL MODS (mainly the ones that aren't in the smae time zone) can help when it's needed...

yeah i don't think we should have 104 mods but i do think that there should be more in order for more help and well...moderation...

104 mods isn't that much considering the amount of members on this forum. EvoM curently has OVER 20,000 members signed up. even tho a percentage of those members may not go on EvoM, it's still a high number.

say we have 100 mods and 20,000 members. that's 1 mod to every 200 members..now that could be less but that's nothing out of proportion, in my opinion.

 

We don't need more mods. We currently have 20 moderators on board. As a Super, I do my best to cover every single forum when possible. **** I'm on 75% of each day alone. If you see trouble arising (or already in progress for that matter), use the report the post feature. We most likely get on it within a 10 minute frame (or within seconds depending if the Moderator is free). Or just simply PM the certain moderator covering that forum where the trouble is insuing, or PM one of the 3 Supers (pjal84, HobieKopek, LancerEvoMR).

We've definitely improved our work during these last few weeks alone. We'll decide if we need more moderators to cover certain areas. Until then, there are no openings.

 

Also, its really not about having 1 or 2 moderators for each state or every 200 members (which is really way too much if you ask me), its generally the "when we need more help" type situation. If we find one section/forum that is badly wounded or needs extra help, then we scout and recruit an appropriate mod to fit the standards that can help us out in that certain area. We just don't simply pick out any member. That should about do it.

EDIT:

Like I said, if more members would simply report the post we'd have no problems (but that doesn't seem to be the case half the time). Most of the time we don't know what the hell is going on in every single thread that happens to be existing on these forums alone. Thats why we need you guys to help point it out to us so that we may deal with the issue ASAP.

Don't worry about time zones. There are 4 in this country (a few more if you count Hawaii and territories). Besides, there are night owl mods like me and Peejay, and there are early risers like me and Peejay so we overlap more than the time zones do.

 

i agree with my fellow mods. i am on at least 10 hours a day and i know that Brian and Peejay are on just as much if not more. normally a reported post get solved in less than 3 mins so there isn't really any need for more mods. did you have a problem that wasn't solved fast enough? or is there any section that you feel like more mods are needed?

let us know so we can do whatever it takes to solve the problem.

I can imagine all the names we'd all have to remember. 104 Moderators, my god....

 

It'd be like an EvoM Senate, 2 people from every state. Then next we can have the House with 435 members or however many are there.

Or if you go up to 108 you can kick it Suikoden style.

 

The west coast mods tend to be on till fairly late at night. So that covers most of the night-owl users who pop onto the board on the east coast.

This site almost always has 2-4 mods online at any given time.

If you are having problems, you shouldn't have to go searching for a Mod. All you need to do is report the post.
