too many emails from subscriptions?

I know that when a new reply gets posted, I am suppose to get one email per subscription, but I get 4 to 5 of the same one and it's flooding my inbox..

can somebody confirm this?

Another person had this happen to them, but then it went away. Are the emails identical? As in same new posters, message, etc?

I had this happen when the new version came out, but then it went away. Now it's back. I get an e-mail for every new post on threads that I haven't visited. But, it only happens on some posts and not others.

I'll talk to vbulletin to see if this is a bug in the software. I think it must see multiple subscriptions and sends an email for each one instead of just for the original one. Maybe I can write a script to fix that every few minutes since it seems to occur randomly.

I checked and couldn't find multiple subscriptions in the system. I think this may be an issue with the portion that actually sends out the email. Could be a setting that overlaps somehow. I've posted to vbulletin to see what they say.

I just updated the number that is processed per batch. Hopefully that will fix the issue.

Ironically, I just got 2 e-mails for this thread . One sent at 2:11 and the other at 2:15.

So weird. I checked the subscription table and there are no duplicates listed. I will check with the vbulletin guys again to see what they have to say.

Houston is one hour behind eastern, right?

The last two posts were 3:11 EST, and 3:15 EST, thus the two emails. you'll get an email from each time a person posts to the thread. The old version did the same, if i remember.

Right, I know that. But, the point is that I should only get 1 e-mail until I come back and check the thread, not an e-mail for every post.
