From the list we can pic from
I think it would be easier if you would replace one of the less used ones and put the mitsu logo for easier selecting instead of going into the more link to find it or typing the command for that logo
I use that smily alot and I believe others do too

Start memorizing the correct input function for that smilie ( |rolleyes| |mad| |mitsu| Replace the | with : ). It helps to save time, rather than going through that list and searching for the smilie your after.
I don't even look at that drop down box anymore. Just gotta remember the correct input function and your set.

what he suggested was instead of clicking on the smilies, u should memorize some and type it in yourself.
for example, to get this
you would type ;mitsu; (replace ; with : )

If you go to your usercp and options section, the bottom has an option to change your textbox type. If you select WYSIWYG you can get all the smilies and they'll display on the page along with images. It'll also show things like bold text, increased font sizes, etc.
I think the system selects the smilies to initially display, so unless I reinsert them, I don't think I can select the order. I'll check on that though.
