Forum Administrator Abuse!?
Forum Administrator Abuse!?
Take a look at a little PM I got from an admin. It seems that if you tell him his suggestion is retarded he deletes your thread. What is up with this ingrate? If you followed the thread it went on for days past when I posted a reply to his small brained suggestion and yet he decides to delete it days later? bored I guess, what an ***. Hey guy if you want to ban me go ahead. I could careless... I come here to read about Evo's not to kiss up to your ***. If you make a stupid comment, you bet I will post a reply to it in my own thread jackass. Why don't you read a little yourself before posting about something you have no clue about and expect people to kiss up to you just because you are "admin". Ohhh you scare me so with your bans and power trip. I swear you can't go anywhere without running into a power hungry little kiddy.
SecretChimp posted:
I promised in your thread that if you continued to have a bad attitude, I would delete the thread. As a result of your kurt reply to my suggestion, I deleted the thread.
If you continue with this attitude, I will be forced to warn/ban.
This includes your reply to my pm...

Sorry buddy but when someone first greets me with an ego I'm not going to give in to threats. The biggest more retarded part is I didn't make my thread a thread that attacks him personally. I responded to his suggestion and ended it there. He continued to post with comments/threats as though he just wanted an excuse. I personally think the guy is a nut.

People are People (Insert Depeche Mode song here), so you will get all kinds of responses depending on the time of day and mood. That's just life... I wouldn't ask my boss for a raise right after making a big mistake, so your timing and your attitude probably had a hand in it coupled with the admin's day as well.
I've had good and bad run in's with admins... but i can tell you one thing. The times I was polite and respectful of their authority... I got what I wanted.
Not sure what that is worth to people... but it helps me out in my life

Judging from reading that thread about 2 minutes ago, sounded like you were the one with the attitude. Ralph and a couple of other members were trying to help you out numerous times in that thread, and yet you brushed them off with an attitude. Ralph might have a better point of view on that.
Ralph aka Secret Chimp. He's no Admin nor Super, just a regular Mod.

Well i've been on both sides (Regular member, then Moderator, then back to regular member). Being on both sides, lemme tell u... the job of a moderator isnt exactly easy. It's pretty hard to deal with a bunch of new people especially when they all demand the same thing over and over. Mods are pretty well mannered and do things quite fairly. If not, they might end up like me... back as a normal member again. Some un-named mod got so bad mannered he was kicked off as moderator then banned because of his attitude. Needless to say he's cleaned up and back as a regular member cuz he was on good behaviour.
Golden rule: Be nice to the mods and respect their authority, they will treat you with equal if not greater respect. However if you **** off a mod, dont expect much from them, and if u REALLY **** em off then ur in for a nice little ride.
That's my 2 cents.
P.S. Secret Chimp (Ralph) is an AWESOME dude, talked to him quite a bit online and met him once or twice in person. Real nice fella. Sup Ralph?

OK I'm not the right person to say don't **** off a mod because believe me I have in the past... But you seem to have a poor attitude why on earth would you say "his suggestion is retarded", if you want them to help you then you say "look I found your suggestion bad, (explain why here).

Totally agree
It's one thing to disagree; however, it is another to insult someone no matter how smart/stupid you think their comment is. I think you insulted Secret Chimp several times in the original thread - Pls tell me how, or why, that is necessary?
I'm going to chime in here too. I have a few questions...
1. What was Ralphs suggestion?
2.If you reacted to him in any similar fashion as to how this thread feels to be written, no wonder he closed your thread.
3. I promise you that continuing to insult a member of the staff will get you nowhere.
The moderators and admins of this site deserve respect. We work to help maintain this community by our own free will, a sacrifice of our own free time. As moderators, we make desicions based upon past experiences and what we feel would be best for the site as a whole. I personally have not been able to read the thread in question, but have no doubt the statements by my fellow moderators to be 100% accurate. "Coping an attitude" with the staff is never a good idea. For all intensive purposes, you should be banned/warned for you insults to other members and staff, a violation of the basic forum rules.
I'm going to let Ralph make comments for himself, seeing that I have no real examples from the thread in question I jsut wanted to put in my .02

OK. Ive just finished read the thread, and I still couldn't agree with Ralphs actions more. You commetnt towards his suggestion of you correcting your attitude wer not needed. You could've explained you comments, but instead decided to "blow off" the suggestion, and now complain about how you were "unfairly mistreated"
To me, it seems as thought Ralph is not the one who needs to grow up (referring to your kiddie on a power trip comment). You are the one who needs to grow up and severely change your attitude toward those who wish to help you.
That's all for me.

Go back and read all the posts in this thread. SC didn't do anything wrong, out of line, or unprofessional in the thread in question. Why would that lead us to think that he shouldn't be a moderator any further?
