Wassup Fellas,


I know that I am not a very good member but I am sure you guys may have heard about me accidentally paying my bill at Alamo with funny money the night of our last meet. Anyway, I just got my cams installed and my new clutch instal. I need help adjusting the clutch pedal as I can get my car into gear during high RPM shifts. Anything above 7k I cant get it into the next gear. I understand that there is a nut behind our clutch pedel that can be adjusted to help this problem. I would do it myself but I am an idiot . I will be willing to pay you for you time.

whats this funny money you speak of? is it like fake money? and why would someone accept such a payment?

 

Tony, where do you live? I can adjust the pedal for you for free. I hadn't heard about the monopoly money payment. Where'd you get it? What happened?

 

Here is the deal on the funny money. I got my income tax return a couple of weeks agao and went strait to Chase to cash it. Called Alamo to ask if they had any 272's in stock. I sent over some cash to hold them until my clutch got here. A week later my clutch comes in and I drop my car off at Alamo. Come back the next day and on the recipt it says, " Please call Arlington Police Dept regaurding currency fraud. SO I ask Brice if he was playing and he said , "NOPE, you gave me a fake 100 dollar bill when you sent over the money for the cams". DAMNIT. So i called the detective and he said that it was a damn good fake and that I dont get and refund from my bank and that it is my responsibilty to make sure my money isnt fake. DAMNIT again.

so the bank gave you a fake 100? thats crazy. i would be pissed! in fact, i'm sure sense they are the distibuters of the authentic cash, it should be their responsibility. i wonder if being FDIC insured will make a difference....

FDIC insured just bascially means that you still retain your money if a bank goes bankrupt. They deposits you have made just get transfered to another bank. It's just Deposit Insurance.


Bummer about the loss of $100 though.

i don't know if it is a profitable insurance biz is it? i though it was the government insuring the banks to prevent what happened in the great depression from happening again. FDIC federal deposit insurance corperation.

now buying stuff with fake 100's would be VERY profitable.... hehe

 

FDIC = Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.

It is the govt basically guaranteeing that up to 100K is safe in your US bank account. That is a reason some people have off-shore accounts. Because they have millions!

And yes, if anyone knows a good way to get into the counterfit 100's industry, please let KevinD know so he can buy me some parts!
