Hey guys.....There's a new EVO in town....well, in NM.
David from LA, are you out there?
This is Bryan, the Schwans guy....I GOT MY EVO MAN!!!!!!!
I bought it on Ebay in Conneticut, flew out there with my wife, and drove it home. It's sweet!

It's yellow of course, got a Bushur Racing stage 1 kit on it. (HKS intake, 3" turbo back exhaust, hi flow cat, and It halls!

It's also lowered with Tein springs, got a Defi boost guage, Powder coated black wheels.

The guy also hooked me up with a brand new set of street tires (it's got Pirelli Wintersports now) and an Alpine deck and amp.

I met a guy in Alb this weekend who thought that he had the only yellow one in town, but I think that I made him feel bad when I pulled up to the shop. doh!

Call me.... 270-1465

Bryan

Awesome Bryan!

You are gonna have to take me for a ride in it sometime. What type of muffler does it have? The magnaflow or the Buschur? I'm only asking because I can't decide on which one to get. I would love to hear it I'm glad you got your evo finally.

There is a new guy doing our Schwans now, I was wondering where you had disappeared to. You going to keep your OZ or your going to sell it?

David

Bryan,

By the way I ordered an XEDE today. It should be in later this week. I can't wait to test it out. Seems as the NM Evo's are growing. Hopefully we can get organized and get something going.

It came with a Bushur racing Stage 1 kit....It's got a Bushur Downpipe and 3" all the way back. Plus, its got the HKS intake. I think its a Magnaflow Hi-flow cat though. Anyway, it halls butt. It's been lowered with Tein Springs also. I'm still trying to get my boost guage hooked up to the right vacuum hose. I think I had it right the first time, but I didn't know how to read the guage yet, so seeing it bounce around I hooked it up to another hose. That hose only shows 11 psi, which I know is wrong, so I have to hook it back up right.

Also, with an exhaust, you're more than likely to get a CEL. If you get the Bushur Racing set up they'll send you an O2 Simulator to take car of that, but I'm going the custom $5 route. Basically, you buy two 18mm anti foulers (spark plug oil foulers). Drill one out to 1/2 inch... Put them together and then screw in the O2 sensor. What it is is an extension of the o2 sensor to get it out of the flow of the exhaust. Everyone says that it takes care of the CEL.
We'll see.....

I'll send you some pics...

I followed one of the How-tos here on the site to hook up my defi gauge and I read 19.5psi until I get close to redline then it tapers to around 16 - 16.5psi. Make sure you don't have any boost leaks. I'll be going down to Albq tomorrow to pick up a friend from the airport. If your not working maybe i can come by and check her out. My friends MR is in for repair as some idiot over at Audio Express was trying to install an alarm and ended up drilling through the brake booster. He has no brake pressure so he has his car down at the shop until they recieve a new brake booster.

I should be recieving my XEDE tomorrow or wednesday. Can't wait for the increase in power.

EDIT: How many miles does the car have on it?

David, it's got 24,000 now. It only had 22,000, but I put around 2300 just driving it home.

I've checked for vacuum leaks. After talking to the guy I bought it from I think that the boost level was turned down by the original owner.

He's sending me the MBC, so I'll get that installed and see if that's what it really is. I hope that's all it is. The car is running great. I just installed my O2 sensor extension, so we'll see if that gets rid of the CEL.

I also just ordered the Apexi SAFC II to control my air/fuel ratios. It normally comes with the Bushur Racing Stage 1, but the guy put it in another car before he sold me the Evo. Oh well...

Who's going to tune your XEDE? A friend of mine tunes them, but he lives in Portland, OR. They mostly specialize in WRXs/STI's though.

Luckily I've got all of the presets from Bushur Racing for the SAFC that for the mods that the car has. Shouldn't be too hard to install it.

Maybe we could do some tuning over the weekend. I'm not sure when mine will be in though. Hopefully by Saturday, but I only ordered it on Monday night.

Give me a call...

Nice. Just recieved my xede and uploaded the basemap and am having some idle problems. Hopefully someone on here can help me out with that issue.

EDIT: I have to say though when I"m in high RPM's this thing pulls crazy now with the xede, just need to figure out these idling problems.

Where did you get the basemap? Did it come with the XEDE? Is it a piggyback or did you have to splice some wires?

I have no idea. Maybe not enough fuel in the lower RPM's. I think I"m gonna wait it out and talk to Vishnu tomorrow. I'm kind of stuck and don't want to drive my car likes this.
