kam:
March 5th - 6th with NASA at The Motorsports Ranch. Two weeks from tomorrow.
I haven't signed up yet, but it's almost guranteed I'm gonna be there because a couple of friends of mine will be working for NASA at the event.
NASA has lowered the price of their DEs to $200 (plus extra for a NASA membership if you're not already a member). But they've also cut the track time in about half. This is because they came to their senses and have divided the DE into 2 run groups, so that newbies in heavy F-bodies weren't out on the track at the same time as racers in Spec Miatas.
You can expect about 2 hours of track time over the weekend.
When thinking about the cost, you'll also want at least 2 nights in a hotel. And it's a 600-mile round trip.
In the past, I could not in good conscience have recommended a NASA DE for someone's first time at the track. But this business with the run groups is encouraging.
TWS with the TWS club (even without the ConeCrazy discount) is probably your best bargain if all you're looking for is track time and the walls aren't a concern.
NASA's instruction is more serious, though, and MSR is a more forgiving track.
(If your pads aren't at 50%+, replace them before hitting the track. If you've still got the factory brake fluid in there, replace it with some DOT 4.)

If you find a company that covers DEs, let me know.
The guy who totalled his Evo at TWS last Fall said Allstate covered the car. His posts are further back in this forum.
