(Updated) WTT: CF Hood for your OEM Tarmac Hood

Due to a misguided bambi I am now in need of a new OEM Evo hood. Please PM me if you have one you want to sell. I'm in Austin and thought I'd check in TX since a local buy would be much cheaper than shipping.

Also considering a CF hood, but I'd want to paint it so I'm thinking I can find someone with a CF hood who still has their stock one.

Thanks!

-Dave

Any color will do if its local, I can always respray it. But my car is tarmac, so that would be ideal.

BTW, this is the perfect opportunity if any of your Tarmac Evo owners want to upgrade to a CF hood. A brand new A+ quality CF OEM style hood is around $500-600. I'll give you $300 for your stock one if its black and provided its in *very* good shape. You can keep the stock vents and heatshields to put on a CF hood.

So, you'd be upgrading to a CF hood for only ~$200-300. Must be local as I want to inspect it first, but I'm willing to meet you halfway if you're in TX.

I'd consider a non-black hood, but I'd have to deduct the cost to paint it.

PM me asap as if I can't find a local stock hood soon I'm going to order a CF one and paint it.

man, I'd jump all over this one... if I had 200 to 300 extra to actually buy a carbon hood. :P
I'm in the valley...

Ok, so I ordered a Carbon Creations CF OEM style hood from Evo8.com. Just got it a few days ago. Originally was going to paint it. I guess I'm just not looking to have a bare CF hood on my car. Don't get me wrong, I think its cool, I guess its just not the look I'm going for with my "stealth" Evo.

But now, since I installed it, I realize its a shame to cover up such a nice piece. It actually looks pretty good on black as its almost the same color as the paint.

So, I'm willing to trade -- even up -- for a Tarmac Black OEM hood in VGC. This hood costs $650 shipped, but since a new hood is $670 + paint I'm still coming out ahead. It has to be in excellent shape, or else I'd need some additional cash to help repaint it.

Anyone? It would have to be local or someone who could come to the Austin area to do the swap. Shipping costs kill the whole idea.

I have pics of it. I will try to get them up tomorrow. First one to PM me who wants it, gets it.

Dave, I'm here in Victoria and travel to Austin all the time. Have you checked the price of repainting the hood? I was quoted $350.00 locally. I'd love to have a c/f hood, and your proposal sounds great, but the cost of your painting my BBY may be a deal breaker.

Here are some pics of a CF hood on a tarmac evo in case anyone is interested.

I have someone who has first dibs on it, but just in case he passes on it if anyone else who PM'd me is still interested, let me know. Looking to trade even up for a tarmac hood in VGC or maybe for another color hood + cash.

If you know anyone with a black Evo in Austin, please pass this along! I know there are at least 3 others in town, but don't have any info on them! Anyone know their usernames?

Thanks!

-Dave

I'm a Tarmac black Evo in Austin. But I'm kinda confused here.. you originally wanted to buy someone's OEM hood, instead you bought a carbon fiber one, and now you wanna trade it to someone for their OEM hood?? Just trying to clear things up.
