I'm wondering anyone local has an 04 or 05 evo without the p0300 code and would like to take part in a test to see if swapping ecu's cures the p0300 code on my car? Basically we just swap ecu's which can be done easily and quickly to see if it will still throw the p0300 code. If it does then it has to be either something to do with the sensors on my car or simply the engine/drive train noise.

well, I have an 03 and I didn't get the p0300 till I had my cams installed. It's only come on once and It was while I was sitting still idealing. I don't think it has anything to do with the ecu's. I think it's more of a vibration from either the driveline or the engine. a few people I've talked to said they got a p0300 code right after the had cams installed. could be a coincidence, but I don't know. I just hope that one of the tuners will be able make a fix for it.

I might try going back to stock cams but it doesn't explain why bone stock cars have it as well. Unless their cams are off spec from the factory.

well, I think another reason some people are getting the code is drive train noise/vibrations, because alot of people say they get it while crusing on the interstate at certain rpms. My has only come on while idealing. So, who knows. from what I understand. the code is being throw by vibrations. so, I'd never had the code untill I got my cams install last week, and it didn't come on till I was idealing in my driveway(note* Ive got my cams set up to ideal pretty lumpy. I guess that's the adolescent kid that still in me)
