We block the plates for the same reason your handle is "davids2004" and not your full real name or phone number or social security number.

Besides the other reasons given, each passing day presents more and reasons to keep as much personally identifying info as possible off the 'Net. Who would have have thought in the early days of the 'Net that one day you'd have to be concerned about potential employers being able to Google your name or e-mail address to find out which of the weird sex-related Usenet newsgroups you liked to hang out in?

Better safe than sorry. IMHO.

(Regarding the Usenet groups: I like alt.tijuana.donkey-sex myself )

I've seen that blue evo with the short wing last time I was in SA driving down some loop highway north of 410.

S-WORKS, not s-wires. it's Specialized Bicycles' highest end mountain and road bike line...

What did you clean them with? I have brake dust baked onto the rims from my track days, and I've tried a few different things (unsuccessfully) to get it off. I can clean the spokes fine, but the rims won't get clean.

I noticed you said yours had a "brightened gauge cluster". What's that? I hate my freakin' gauges....

Eagle One Aluminum Wash & Clean.

stuff works pretty well. spray on (dry wheel works better i think but make sure the wheel is not warm at all or everything evaporate and gets nasty)
let soak 30 seconds
scrub with wheel brush

rinse with wemi-powerful stream of water

you'll probably have to go back and spot spray and clean the corners where the spoke meets the wheel and inside the rim (if you care to be that detailed)...

and when you're spraying the stuff off the wheel, be careful not to have your head to close (that stuff is a b!tch when it gets in your eyes) and make sure to sray it off the car right away if any gets on it...

as far as the brightened guage cluster... just took the guage cluster out, took the backing plate off removed the 4 big lights and cut the blue plastic covers off of them.

http://bolsen.homeip.net/evolights.htm

thats the sight i got all the directions from. he goes like 12 steps further and colors the lights red and then puts red gel covers on them... screw that, the gueage is already colored red... just cut the existing gel covers off and voila, brighter guages...
