I sent my ECU to Mark at TT, but they flashedit and sent it back before I could call in to arrange overnight shipping. Now it looks like there is no way that I will have it for the PCA event on Sunday. Would any of you be willing to rent your ECU to me for 8 hours? Obviously I'd pay you for it and give you a deposit. I'd owe you big time. So anyone???

Are you aware that you will probably have to go through some tricks just to start the car?

I'm pretty sure I've heard that the ECU and the ignition key are tied together. If you replace the ECU without doing anything else, I'm pretty sure the ECU won't let the car run because it won't recognize your key's transponder.

 

Seriously? I am so used to just swapping them in other Mitsus that I hadn't thought about that. Crap!

 

ok so he needs to rent your ecu and a key. he can tape the key to the steering column. i'd offer you mine...but the timing map is set up for my car. sorry.

 

There you go then. Anyone have their car in a shop for the weekend? Down for a clutch upgrade or anything? I could offer my sweet mechanic skills in return as well. Need cams installed? Need a new clutch? I can do it all.
