Super Street Boycott In Sa
Seriously, this doesn't surprise me. People from Texas always flip out when people say ANYTHING about thier state. Super Street F.ucks with EVERYONE, hell even thier own staff. It isn't because they have a personal vendetta against Texas or they are anti-american or anything they are just being smarta55es. Just think of a bunch of kids messing around, they are going to say stupid crap just to impress each other. Don't get me wrong i have no love for thier mag, i pick it up once or twice a year but seriously...wow. i mean this is like all those whiny b!tches who write in to TV shows when something "offends" them. Chill out. Just because someone has an opposing view doesn't make them a-holes. However if you strongly believe in your cause then what a couple of jacka55es say in a magazine shouldn't effect you.
Most importantly.... SLAVERY BAD M'KAY. A little research into the history of the Mexican government, Texas and the events at that time are sobering.

super street apologizes http://www.enkei.com/SS%20APOLOGIES.html
Sorry, nothing against you guys here, I had a good time meet some of the NTEC up in McKinney but I got to say now - worst state ever. I swear to god - I hear all of these sayings "Don't mess with Texas" or "Everything's bigger in Texas" or my favorite "God bless Texas" - I swear to god I am a firm believer in if you tell yourself something so many times you might actually believe it. Most of the people in Texas probably only seen Texas and don't know any better... go east of the Mississippi River - green rolling hills, kind people. Go west, Rocky Mnts, pacific ocean and again kinder people. I studied North Korea for 11 years nonstop now and they believe though they are starving they have more food than anyone else - because that is what they are told. Same thing with all the Texas slogans. The rest of the US don't need slogans, they just know.
I apologize, I am sure I am making Texans upset, my evo just got rearend at a stop by a Texan who claimed it was not her fault because she said and I quote her saying "It was not my fault because my brakes are bad and I am not used to this car" and because of that she fells she shouldn't have to pay. Funny part of this is she literally did it in front of 4 cops who told her it WAS her fault and did a report saying it was her fault yet she is still claiming that she shouldn't pay for what her brakes didn't do. This is just the most recent things that happened since being in this state. No crap has ever happened in the other states Uncle Sam has sent me to - PA, Maryland, Cali. - normal people (even Cali - which surprised me) normal life. I will get off my soap box now - 5 more month til things get better. God bless Texas!

mump,
Help me understand. Do you dislike Texas because we have slogans? Or is it because you were rear ended by a lady who likes to misplace blame?
Are you claiming that nowhere in the rest of the US would you find someone who would try to blame something other than themselves for causing an accident?
Also, "worst state ever"...really? So, you've lived in various parts of all 50 states and can attest that the entire state of Texas (which is the size of 2 or 3 average states) is indeed the "worst state ever"?
How many times do you think someone has to read/hear something to truly believe it without question? Would you say 5, or 5000, or 50,000 times? How many times do you think people actually read or hear these slogans? I hope you don't actually believe that the people of Texas (all 22,000,000) are naive enough to believe that just because a bumper sticker says something, it must be true. Or that our media is controlled strongly enough to distribute propaganda well enough to instill this clearly unfounded belief that God Bless Texas. (on a side note: Not being from Texas you aren't privy to the information that "Don't Mess with Texas" is an anti-pollution campaign to reduce the "Mess" on our highways. Not a Texas is better than anyone else ad campaign) Which now that I mention it, none of the ad campaigns you've mentioned actually state. In none of those ads, do they say Texas is the best state. They say it's the biggest (*except for Alaska) and that they want God to bestow a blessing on Texas.
Interesting that you use a major generalization and stereotype to prove how narrow-minded Texans are.
I have found that most people tend to believe where they are from is better than other places. For instance, I would never want to live in Pittsburgh. The weather sucks half the year and the city is just not to my liking. But I know several people that are from there that love it and wish they could move back.
So, instead of trying to rationalize your desire to not be in Texas by saying that anyone that believes Texas is blessed is delusional, why not try saying "I don't really care for Texas. The heat bothers me. The people are not to my liking." Whatever it is that makes you wish you were somewhere else. Because unlike these narrow-minded Texans that you believe most are, a lot of us have lived elsewhere. Speaking for myself and friends that have lived elsewhere (with whom I've had this discussion before) we all have come back and are happier having done so.
I'm glad that you serving your country and I hope the next 5 months go smoothly without anymore incidents.

ok, sorry. I don't care for Texas, this place bothers me. "Worst state ever" - I was taking that from the simpsons, I have not been to any New England states, Hawaii, or Alaska. Texas does bother me, I think what gets me the worst is the liquor laws, no beer buying before noon on sunday???? Doesn't Texas know that is what time football starts. That just makes baby jesus cry.

then move out....but as for SS...yeah thats complete BS. and that article they did about RRM was them sarcasticly joking about the Lancer.....never buying it again. i think someone should write to them and tell 'em whats up.
Well i am partial to SA texas i hate it only because that is where i experienced my worst time in my life. it was basic trainning. other than that the town was pretty cool. if it makes you guys feel any better SA is a good base to go to in the airforce because of the town ohh and i hate all the damn wind you all get down there lol
So, Mump you don’t believe people all over the US do not feed themselves B.S. to make themselves feel better. How about the fact the “the great founding fathers” United States who believed “all men are created equal,” specifically George Washington and Thomas Jefferson to name two, OWNED SLAVES, RAPED black women, had children by the black women they raped, and SOLD THEIR CHILDREN by those black women to other slave owners. It’s not top secret information. Look it up.
Hey, SA’s a great city, my hometown, if that guy had a grudge against the no good bastards who defended the Alamo, he should have said so. His remark was low class because it definitely sounded like a remark about SA today not about those people back then.
Most of you should get over yourselves. Presently, this is our county right or wrong and SA is our city right or wrong, but the history of the US, Texas, and the Alamo is not pretty, to try to made something right just because it belongs to you is DEAD WRONG.

Yeah I think most of the people are happy. Where else can you go and use pick-up lines like "BURP...get in the truck bit--!"

Well you do have to consider where Mump is at right now!! Holy Sweet Crap, the dude is in San Angelo!!! I would be hating life too. Listen Mump, you haven't seen crap of Texas if you've only been in San Angelo. Ever been to Austin? South Padre or Padre Island? Tons more great places in this state but IMHO San Angelo is NOT one of them. I have lived all over the U.S. including California(armpit) and most of their laws are a joke! Anyway, please, don't hesitate to leave when your time comes. CYA.........
