I wish it wasn't the holidays...and I didn't just get hit with a $700 bill to fix my heater. I need a boost gauge setup.

So have you checked that the dealer is gonna give you that $20k-$21k? The best offer I ever got from a dealer was >$15k

So what are getting on trade?

I ended up getting $18,000 for the evo, and that is with no mods. KevinD and I stripped it bare last night. (for sale items will be posted soon)

I got offered 18k at the Mazda dealer
17,800 at Toyota, and
18,000 at Carmax.

HAD to take the Carmax choice because they test drive your car and while he was driving, the clutch locked up. The pedal wouldn't move an inch. So the car was immoble, but their offer was still good. So instead of towing the car to the dealer or some place and having to pay to get it looked at, I took their offer and ran.

Ended up with a Titanium Silver Mazda 3 i Touring with 2 (two) miles on the odometer

Yea, I'll still be there. [sentimental moment] I love you guys too much [/sentimental moment]

The meet will be either the 13th or the 20th. I don't know how many people will want it on the 20th being close to Christmas, but I'll make a new thread tonight

That must've been an "oh $hit!" moment. I hate to see you get less than $20k but that was definitely the best course of action. So did they offer you the $18k before or after the test drive? What was their upper limit if your car was in a "perfect" condition?

Congrats on the new car.

You know...we were suspecting that clutch install for those other problems you had.

Well...sorry to see it go. I do know that being in good financial shape will be a great stress relief long term. I'm sure it is with mixed emotions that you made the choice...but hopefully it will be worth it when you have no worries and a IX or X in the driveway one day :>

See you at the next event!

just as a notice:

Denver and I will be now offering any work done to evos and other 4G63's. We specialize in wiring and in electronics, but we can do anything you may need. basically let me know what you need done and hopefully i can give you a good price. for wiring we are going to charge 30 an hour plus parts. i promise you will never see a better wiring job then what we can offer. as a general rule of thumb we will charge half the labor rate of the shop. (Which can be anywhere from 75-150 an hour).

and if anyone wants to do a standalone, we can set you up with a Performance Electrics ECU. they run 1000 dollars, and it is a full stand alone until with 16x16 fuel and spark tables. if you are interested check out www.pe-ltd.com. we have plenty of experience with the ECU and would be more then happy to install one on your car.

PM with questions if you are interested.
