I might get some cams and need a machanic to do the job. Most speed shops in DFW qouted me $350-$450 for install of cams. And charge $500 to replace clutch. I thnk those prices are too high. Am i wrong?

 

Try PMing user Joeycoates, he installed my cams twice now, and I've been very happy with the results. His prices are very fair, and he does great work. The last time he even came to my house to do them.

And yes those cam install prices do seem high. I haven't needed a clutch on an evo yet, but FIS charged me $450 for my WRX clutch. Hope that helps, John

Shops should charge you 2 hours for a cam install so I'd say $200 is a decent price but $500 for a clutch install from a reputable shop is a pretty good price. Of course there is only one shop in DFW I would trust with that.

 

i can do your cams too if you like. my housemate and i knocked out Monkeys and mine, and will be able to do yours pretty quickly. we can do it for considerably less then 350 too. PM me if your interested and we can work out a price. my housemate would likely do your clutch too, but i don't have the time to work on that one right now. to busy building the race car at the moment

Alamo autosports qouted me $280 on the cams. So far thats the lowest price thats a shop.
