New Clutch :)

wuu! i finally got the new clutch installed. i went with the ACT super street one. with the ACT flywheel. i spent all day yesterday putting it in, and a bit this morning putting the misc stuff back on and cleaning the car and the garage.

took it for a spin and it was a much different feel then the stock stiffer pedal, much more sensitive, and it actually grips unlike the stock.

good news... no leaks yet. replaced engine oil, tranny fluid, transfer case fluid, and next weekend i'm putting the undertray back on when i verify that everything is sound. at that time i will be changing the rear diff fluid as well.

although my knuckles are all busted up, and sense this was the first clutch job on an evo for me, it took a good 10 hours for two of us. however now we could do it in half that given the correct tools (slide hammer thing for output shafts, pry bar, and dropping the subframe instead of working around it).
so if anyone wants a clutch done, let me know, we can prolly work something out

Keep us posted on the difference. I just dropped my car off this morning to have the same done to it, ACT street clutch and ACT Flywheel. What tranny oil did you use?

I tried butter once, too. Didn't work very well and made me hungry.

How long have you done this for? I'm trying this combo in a couple of days.

Yeah, but once you melt it over some hot bread, it is like a little slice of heaven on earth...

i only have 1,000miles on it right now, but i got the idea from someone else on the board here that has been running this way for a while with no issues to report...the reason i went this route instead of with the syncromesh, is that most people on the board here complain that the syncomesh wears out after about 5,000 miles, and that is a little too soon for me...
