One less Evo around
Luckily, no one was in the passenger seats, just me in the car.
Happened north of Round Rock, TX, intersection of 1431 and Sam Bass Rd (for those of you who know the area).
As for the next car, I'm thinking it may be time to go back to some good ole fashion V-8 power.

VERY LUCKY you had no passenger
I’m sorry to hear about your car Raven, but am happy that you walked away.
I’m even happier that there was not a passenger in the front. I’m a little surprised so many people consider that fairing well in a side impact! The front and rear should crumple, but the inner cage should not budge at all. I’m not claiming that the Evo (in general) is good nor bad, but simply that in this instance, the side protection was compromised.
Based on the third picture, a third of the seat is now occupied by the car. If a passenger had been strapped in, they would have (at a minimum)a broken arm & head injuries, and possibly shoulder and rib damage depending on their height.
Count your blessings!
How about a GTO?

You're missing my point.
Because you don't know the speed of either vehicles involved, claiming that "it faired well" is a bit premature. The only fair assesment of what we know is:
The passenger cage was compromised.
FWIW, I'm only making this point because Lancers and Evo's don't have good side impact protection, and self affirming statements will only provide a false sense of security.
Drive safe.
